Let’s start the day with a jazzy hip-hop summer vibe! Y’skid is a Dutch producer who is in the game for a lot of years now and has done great tracks for people like Extince, Brainpower and Fresku. LUX expo

Today my expo at LUX café will start. From 5 pm till 7 pm there is an official opening and you can have a drink or something to eat. Three paintings will be shown till the 14th of September. New collection is out now, available now at : As It Is, Oh My Tees, Mac Fly and Devotee Apparel. It’s a small but solid collection. Going out from a color-combination of white, blue and ‘khaki’. I tried to mix these colors on a shirt and that t-shirt will be matched with other apparel. In the next weeks we’re making a official photo-shoot for these items. It’s a new thing that I’m working on. I’ll keep you posted!

take it out on the streets

I made a poster for Devotee Apparel. One of my early ideas was to make a advertising poster out of a painting. I think it’s interesting to play with quantities. If you make one painting; the value is bigger than when you make a dozen. People like to buy exclusive stuff and prefer if there is a limited stock. Everybody knows how it works. Thinking about bigger brands and there products like Porsche for example, gives it an other effect. A Porsche where there are thousands of made is still exclusive, and puts you in a higher range of products. It has the same effect on paintings from famous artists. As I’m also interested in street art. For me the poster gives a more wide perspective, people can see the painting as a poster on the streets. And there is not just one hanging above someones couch, instead of a painting. A like both ways equally, however to play with these directions, makes it more interesting! In the future I’ll be making more of these, I like to take it more in the streets and maybe even bigger. Kinda like Daniel Buren who took his brush to the streets. Some plans are running wild in my head, so I better start writing some shit down now..

Stock & Dimes

Finally; tomorrow will start the first event of Stock and Dimes. A market where die hard sneaker collectors can sell, trade or buy sneakers.
The whole day talking about shoes and shoes.
If you are not interested in sneakers then again you should check it out. Perhaps you find something nice. Or you can buy some t-shirts and other stuff that’s related to streetwear. And Dj’s will be spinning some records all day long. I’ll have my stand ready for NRFTO and I’m selling some sneakers too.

Who endures, will last

As far as I’m concerned about my future. I started realizing that the crisis is really hitting the young upcoming brands and even the older ones. The big conductors in this game even have trouble finding there spot. I come across the same problems with selling my products; a lot of my favorite stores are closing. And new stores are afraid to invest in something new and fresh. It has a double feeling, on one side I can understand why people are pre-cautious, but since we are all in this together. We should be helping each other and make it big again. Money is always an issue on that type of situations, we all want a roof above our head and a steady income. My situation is insecure ass hell, but one thing I know; one day I’m BIG. Sometimes it’s hard to believe and it makes me thinking about a 9-5 job. But we all have are ups and downs and the strongest will survive. We call it in dutch ‘the aanhouder wint’. It means the one who endures, will last. All this thinking is going on for a while now, but this morning I was reminded because of an article on Sneaker Freaker Magazine. Very interesting to read for all sneakerlovers or independent entrepeneurs. Read the article here.

Limited to 75 pieces and it has a color combination of ‘khaki’, blue, white and black. This week my monthly newsletter will hit the streets. Always on the search

For me as a young brand, I try to look as much as possible to other brands. To get inspiration or feel some connection. It doesn’t really matter which brand it is; are they already long on the market, or are they just starting things up. A brand as Wood Wood combines streetwear with one step into the real fashion scene, you can call it High End Fashion if you want. The thing I like is that they just started with t-shirts and building the whole brand around that. I just started one and a half year ago, and now they are an inspiration for me. But back then they probably had the same feeling about other brands. It’s funny how the world keeps evolving and brands follow each other up. Wood Wood is on the market for 8 year, where will I be in 8 years? World domination is still my main course, not in the sense of dictatorship. But I think I have something to offer, and it needs to be heard. So all you listeners, enjoy the video and in 8 years we looking back and say HELL YEAH!!
